Dir Archaeology: Rock-Art Discoveries Along the East–West Path

Like other areas of Gandhara, the lower DirDir district is also rich in archaeological sites, but very little work has been done in this area so far. What has been accomplished belongs, of course, to the Department of Archaeology at the University of PeshawarUniversity of Peshawar, which has not only documented several sites, but also excavated important sites from the pre-Buddhist and Buddhist period in the region.
