Synthesis—Hydrogen for Chemical and Fuel Synthesis

The utilization of hydrogen in the production of chemicals and fuels is the primary emphasis of this chapter. The reactivity and adaptability of hydrogen make it an important component in fuel and chemical synthesis, which in turn helps to manufacture goods that are vital to many different sectors. The use of green hydrogen, which is generated from renewable sources, is anticipated to increase the processes’ sustainability by decreasing the total amount of carbon emissions linked to the manufacturing of chemicals and fuels. Hydrogen is an essential component in many chemical and fuel synthesis processes: Ammonia, Methane, Methanol, Hydrogenation reactions, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, Hydrogen Peroxide, Hydrogenation of Nitrogen Compounds, and Hydrogenation of Edible Oils.
