The variety of hydrogen-based services and uses is expected to expand in tandem with the advancement of hydrogen technology and the efforts of both governments and industries  to reduce carbon emissions. Due to its versatility, hydrogen is an essential element in the transition to an energy system that uses less carbon. Over the next few years, there will surely be the introduction of new services and applications thanks to the persistent efforts of researchers and developers. The energy-carrying qualities of hydrogen are put to advantageous use in a wide variety of industries and applications: power generation such as gas turbines, fuel cells, and hybrid combined heat and power CHP; energy storage; heating systems; cooking appliances; agriculture; and medical and health. Continuous innovation in hydrogen services and applications is being driven by the continual desire to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and decarbonize the economy.
