This edited volume analyzes the issue of natural resource capitalization carried out in forest areas, along the coast, on peatlands, farmland, and within community customary forests, for the benefit of the mining and tin industries, plantations, and the food industry. Societal crises emerging from the capitalization of natural resources include social exclusion and marginalization, poverty, food and clean water shortages, floods, and other natural disasters. The aim of this book is to examine various socio-ecological crises in different natural resource areas. Its novelty lies in presenting an interdisciplinary and multi-perspective analysis rooted in a sustainable development approach. Data were collected qualitatively and analyzed descriptively.
