A Proposed Algorithm for Object Detection System for Enhanced Mobility of Visually Impaired Individuals—“Aadarsha Dristi”
摘要
Our model “Aadarsha Dristi” is an innovative object detection system developed to empower visually impaired persons by delivering real-time audio feedback regarding their surroundings. In this, the machine learning algorithm is integrated with the YOLOv8 algorithm, to capture the visual input through an on-board camera in the environment and process the data for correct identification of the objects. It wirelessly sends those detected objects through audio output devices connected via Bluetooth to the system user. This new technology greatly improves the mobility and awareness of space for visually impaired persons by providing an interactive and informed experience from the environment. This assists people with visual impairments in several ways: it bridges the gap between what one sees and auditory feedback, an immense development in assistive technology that keeps on bringing even more inclusiveness, further enriching the quality of life for its users.
