Augmented Reality for Remote Collaboration: Transforming Virtual Workspaces with Immersive Technologies

The study seeks to establish AR in improving remote collaboration and other conventional methods of collaboration. The study employs a comparative approach, dividing participants into two groups that involve the use of the traditional remote control and an augmented reality-based virtual environment. Surveys are taken to capture feedback on the usability, effectiveness and quality of interaction that took place while accomplishing the tasks, together with quantitative measures collected on how each interface and tool performed in accomplishing the set tasks, and statistical comparisons done using t-tests and ANOVA. It is evident from the research that with an increase in the accuracy rates from 85 to 92%, AR reduces decision-making time from 16 to 13 min. The results reflect that satisfaction and decision-making scores improved from 3.8 to 4.5 and 3.7 to 4.5, respectively. In addition, the 3D visualization scored 4.7 with a higher frequency of interaction at 15, thereby greatly improving user engagement and performance. The AR system received better scores on factors related to the use of the technology, the quality of collaboration, and the effectiveness of 3D visualization as compared to other conventional tools. The improved ratings of the system in terms of perceived usability, satisfaction, and perceived interaction Quality supports the proposition that the intended system enhances the usability of the remote work settings. The successful implementation of the proposed system shows that it holds great potential for restructuring collaborative work and provides important experience for integrating VR in a number of industry sectors.
