IoT-Driven Intelligent Street Automation System: A Study Tailored for Bangladesh
摘要
This paper aims to showcase an innovative smart street lighting automation system for Bangladesh based on the Internet of Things (IoT) concept. Energy efficiency and traffic management are two key points of the system for urban areas. This intelligent system can improve the percentage of traffic safety, save a significant amount of energy, and increase the lifespan of the lighting infrastructure by adjusting the brightness of the street lights based on detecting the presence of pedestrians and vehicles. Compared to the conventional system’s two key metrics, energy and safety, this solution enhances public safety by addressing critical sustainability issues of Bangladesh’s rapid urbanization and energy challenges. To reduce traffic accidents, automation features an adaptive traffic control mechanism that provides synchronized barriers alongside traffic signals. Urban areas in Bangladesh can move toward a more sustainable and secure future by adopting this advanced system to improve the quality of life for the residents.
