Beyond the well-worn concept of posthumanism, it is crucial to contemplate the fundamental essence of being posthuman in the present era. We have evolved beyond the stage where simple technical enhancements, such as prosthetics, can fully embody the concept of becoming posthuman. Posthumanism encompasses a metaphysical perspective that involves a renewed comprehension of ethical concepts, as discussed in Francesca Ferrando’s Philosophical Posthumanism (2020). It also involves the exploration of the physical aspects of human potential, which can be expanded indefinitely through advancements in bioscience, biotechnology, and medical technology. Posthumanism comprises both a state of existence and a process of transformation. It is crucial to recognise this fact immediately in order to effectively adapt ourselves, similar to updating applications, in response to our enthusiastic embrace of technology.
