Composites of Polyaniline and Activated Charcoal (PANI/AC) were synthesised through the oxidative polymerisation of aniline hydrochloride, utilising alter Wt.% (5, 10, 15, 20 wt. %) of Activated Charcoal particles in conjunction with the oxidant ammonium persulphate. The composites were subjected to thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) to assess their thermal stability. The thermal stability of the PANI/AC demonstrated an improvement over that of PANI, suggesting a significant interaction between the conducting polymer PANI and the activated charcoal particles in the composites. The Horowitz-Metzger method was employed to determine kinetic parameters such as free energy, entropy of activation, frequency factor and activation energy of change in composition. The values of all these parameters indicate a notable enhancement in the thermal stability of the composites.

摘要
