Exploring the “Intelligence” Potential of Rooftop Greenery in Post-pandemic Era

During a citywide lockdown in Shanghai, transportation and logistics disruptions hindered food delivery, creating an urban island scenario. This prompted thoughts on ensuring residents’ vegetable food security and self-sufficiency. Simultaneously, government-led carbon neutrality policies are pushing for energy efficiency in construction. Rooftop spaces, with solar roof systems for carbon sequestration and rooftop farms for autonomous agriculture, offer a new solution for urban development.
