A Comprehensive Review of Materials, Technologies, and Performance Advancements in Organic Photovoltaic Cells
摘要
Organic Photovoltaic cells short for OPV are emerging as a new clean energy option as they are flexible, light, and inexpensive. Though they have the ability to completely transform solar energy from the sun with their thin and flexible solar cell, there are various factors that can reduce their efficiency. They include reduced efficiency, shorter life span of the organic material that is used for making these OPV, and limited technology, however, the adaptability diversity of the organic material provides room for improvement in these elements in the future. There has been a lot of research that is taking place to address the issues and make these cells perform better with a greater increased efficiency. This paper looks into the recent advances in the field of OPV technology like the device architecture, manufacturing techniques, working principles, and major constituents and it also gives an overview of the performance characteristics, efficiency, and electrical properties.
