Modified TLS Protocol Using BB84 Protocol and Bit Masking
摘要
This paper proposes Quantum Layer Security (QLS) to modify the existing TLS protocol, integrating the BB84 quantum key distribution for enhanced security. We propose a novel extension to the BB84 protocol that improves the secret key bit-level security by leveraging bit masking, making interception and brute force difficult. We also simulated and benchmarked the quantum system using IBM Qiskit and measured the security and performance trade-offs. The QLS framework presents an upcoming solution and a transition for securing communications in the quantum era, bridging classical and quantum cryptographic protocols, and ensuring data security against evolving threats.
