This paper presents design research and the creation of multisensory pop-up books exploring STEM communication for audiences living with blindness, low vision and diverse needs (BLVDN). The research emphasises inclusive design, employing an exploratory process within the framework of inclusive BLVDN. The research was undertaken in collaboration with an arts and exhibition outreach programme, at a leading biomedicine laboratory and under the direction of a legally blind STEM artist. The lived experience of the blind artist informed the design, integrating accessibility, paper engineering techniques, with multisensory art-making, suited for the communication of gut biota and related immunology concepts.

摘要
