摘要
Natural Language Processing (NLP) has become a significant part of our modern lives, making its continuous development more crucial. Anaphora Resolution, a fundamental aspect of NLP, deals with the resolution of references, especially in addressing how a pronoun refers to a Noun Phrase. Significant advancement has been achieved in this domain for languages like Chinese, Japanese, English, and other European languages. However, the landscape for Indian languages, including Punjabi, remains relatively less explored. This manuscript aims to delve deeply into the intricate subject of anaphora resolution, mainly focusing on the Punjabi language. The paper comprehensively analyzes available resources and approaches to handle this complex NLP problem. The primary objective of this survey is to provide an extensive overview of the current state of anaphora resolution research, highlighting the challenges and opportunities within the Punjabi linguistic context to the reader.
