India’s voting system faces several challenges, including voter verification, transparency and result tampering. While there was a technical shift from paper ballots to Electronic-Voting Machine, the system still has limitations in transparency and security. To address these issues, a new blockchain-based voting system that combines Ganache, Meta-M, and Ethereum technologies along with cloud computing has been proposed here for better performance and reliability. Some of the salient features of our solution include decentralized data storage, robust encryption, and additional biometric security measures. We propose a system to address the issues of voter authentication, integrity of voter data, while providing real-time monitoring of votes. The system has been designed to provide accessibility to citizens having varied levels of technical skills by carrying out extensive testing, we have demonstrated the durability of the system and its ease of use. The data protection and legal requirements in the Indian legal environment have also been considered to ensure that the system meets compliance standards, thus making it a remarkable upgrade to the current infrastructure.
