There are a variety of different ground terrains in outdoor environments and many Autonomous Ground Vehicle (AGV) missions, for example, search and rescue, inspection, surveillance, etc. It requires the vehicle to operate in challenging terrains such as rough, bumpy, zigzag, inclined, waves, or flaws. Therefore, it is significant for the vehicle to assess which terrain it is currently operating on so that it can ensure its safe motion and will improve its overall performance on these terrains. Terrain classification can also help the path planner to select the most efficient path for the desired goal location. The following manuscript presents a wireless robot system for live monitoring and classification of the type of terrain, enabling the operator to categorize the terrain remotely.

摘要
