In the era of industrial globalization, modern machine tools in manufacturing industries play a crucial role in attaining competitive advantages to ensure its survival in the worldwide extremely volatile market scenario. Therefore, performance evaluation of CNC cylindrical grinding machine tools is very essential for the decision-makers. So this paper aims to propose a novel multi-criteria decision-making approach capable of handling tangible and intangible factors for evaluation and selection of CNC cylindrical grinding machine tools. In this technique, linguistic performance ratings of subjective criteria as well as linguistic weight of criteria have been quantified through the application of fuzzy set theory. The normalized weighted performance ratings have been computed using nonlinear functions. The proposed technique has been demonstrated by illustrating a numerical problem on green performance assessment of CNC cylindrical grinding machine tools under multi-criteria homogeneous group decision-making approach. The result obtained has been verified by existing methodology. The analysis shows that the proposed method is effective and useful in decision-making in CNC machine tools selection.

摘要
