This book discusses the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA) of various products, processes, and services. This chapter briefly describes this book and the topics that have been extensively covered here. The book has four parts. Part I is a general discussion of LCA and TEA analysis and their methodologies. Here, the authors have also discussed the various limitations of LCA and how the methodologies can be improved. Part II is dedicated to the various fuel production pathways. The scenarios of different alternative fuels like Bio-LPG, DME, Biodiesel, Biomass-to-liquid fuel and Hydrogen production strategies have been analysed through LCA and TEA. The next part (Part III) consists of the vehicle technologies, their corresponding LCA and TEA analysis, and their respective methodology for various vehicle technologies. This part also discussed the overall emissions of the transport sectors. The last part (Part IV) consists of some miscellaneous case studies through the LCA and TEA analysis, which could eventually be helpful for the intended readers from diverse backgrounds. This book aims to thoroughly understand LCA and TEA through fundamentals and some case studies. The authors and editors have tried highlighting the significance of LCA and TEA in various technologies and strategies by evaluating economic and environmental viability.
