Internal Quality Assurance in Vietnamese Higher Education Institutions
摘要
Quality assurance is a key global practice in quality management and has been implemented in Vietnamese higher education for over two decades to ensure accountability to stakeholders, including accreditation bodies and regulatory authorities. Operating at both institutional and programmatic levels, Vietnam’s quality assurance framework involves internal mechanisms, accreditation bodies, and assessment standards. This chapter examines the quality assurance system in Vietnam by reviewing documents, regulations, and guidelines for higher education. It relies on secondary data from the Ministry of Education and Training on quality assurance in higher education. The chapter explores the internal quality assurance systems, quality accreditation organizations, and quality assessment standards for higher education in Vietnam. It also discusses the practical aspects of quality assurance in Vietnamese higher education, including advantages and challenges. Based on these findings, the chapter proposes six recommendations to address the current issues within the higher education quality assurance system in Vietnam.
