In the context of robust digitalization in education, many Vietnamese higher education institutions have actively applied Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to improve teaching and learning, research, and management. Alongside rapidly changing institutional practices regarding course provision, organization of learning and teaching, the conduct of research, and collaboration with external organizations, universities are also approaching quality assurance in new and innovative ways. This chapter describes global trends relating to ICT application in quality assurance and the implications for Vietnamese higher education. The chapter explores the application of ICT in both external and internal quality assurance in Vietnamese higher education in the past two decades, with an emphasis on its progression over the past five years. It discusses how the aspiration of the government to digitally transform higher education is articulated in policy documents and considers the implementation of Vietnamese higher education institutions and external quality assurance agencies. The chapter ends with a discussion of the future of ICT implementation in Vietnamese higher education quality assurance, detailed by the challenges that affect its development trend and proposed solutions to address the issues.
