Research on Vietnamese Higher Education Quality Assurance
摘要
As an emerging quality assurance system, Vietnam has undertaken various research initiatives in this field. This chapter provides an initial review of research on quality assurance in Vietnamese higher education that helps identify quality assurance aspects and methodologies crucial for the development of quality assurance practices and systems. The primary areas of research that were disclosed include accreditation standards and criteria, the development of the quality assurance system, quality assurance policy, internal quality assurance, impact of quality assurance and accreditation, stakeholders’ engagement in quality assurance, internationalization in quality assurance, and the correlation between accreditation, rankings, and ratings. Moreover, research on Vietnamese higher education quality assurance during the past two decades also focuses on quality culture, quality assurance of online and blended learning, professional competencies of the quality assurance staff and their professional development. The chapter also suggests key themes for future research on higher education quality assurance in Vietnam. These include investigating the relationship between accreditation and university branding, conducting comparative studies on quality assurance practices in public and private universities, exploring the differences between domestic and international accreditation, and examining the potential of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in quality assurance.
