Quality assurance of academic programs is a critical responsibility that higher education institutions (HEIs) need to address to sustain high standards of teaching and learning. Faculty members’ engagement in quality assurance (QA) of academic programs positively impacts teaching and learning. This case study, conducted at a Vietnamese university, aims to clarify the current situation of academic staff’s engagement in higher education QA at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). The main research method adopts a quantitative approach, using a Likert scale survey for data collection from 100 participants at HUST. The descriptive findings offer insights into the level of faculty engagement in QA of teaching activities and the use of assessment results to improve student learning. This chapter also discusses: (i) academic staff awareness of QA, (ii) academic staff participation in QA, (iii) factors influencing academic staff’s participation in QA activities, (iv) faculty opinions on proposals for implementing QA at HUST specifically, and lessons learned for other HEIs in Vietnam with similar practical conditions. At the macro level, this chapter recommends revisions to the national QA policies to ensure alignment between policy and practice.
