It is well known that traditional Chinese law has had a profound influence on Japanese law, and the existence of this influence provides us with richer material for understanding the inheritance and evolution of the traditional Chinese and Japanese legal systems. For example, Japan adopted the laws of the Sui and Tang Dynasties in China, which transformed its society and legal system. The legal historical materials handed down through adoption also provide a complementary perspective to modern people for understanding Chinese law in the past.
