In 1995, the term “proteomics” was coined to describe the comprehensive examination of a cell line, tissue, or organism’s whole protein complement. These days, proteomics is defined in two ways. First, there is the more traditional definition that limits research involving only proteins to extensive gene product analysis. The second, more comprehensive definition integrates protein studies with genetic readout investigations like as genomics, yeast two-hybrid analysis, and mRNA analysis.
