The fifth generation and beyond wireless network improves the virtual connectivity and data speed and offers low latency with good reliability and capacity. This strengthens mobile TV and video streaming’s usability and accessibility. Digital multimedia broadcasting is a boon that offers the broadcast of multimedia signals to various portable devices with good interconnectivity. With the advancement in digital technology, the live broadcasting of television programs helps the user to be up to date. 5G has been deployed in many countries, gradually rolling out fourth-generation wireless networks. Digital multimedia broadcasting comprises two types of information content. The contents broadcasted may be targeted to the entire globe or nation, or it shall be to a certain region of interest. Certain television programs aimed at listeners over the globe are called global content, and the breaking news, weather conditions, etc., vary from region to region and are referred to as local information. The system gets spectrally efficient when both content is embedded in the broadcasting signal at the same time using a single-frequency network. This is done with the hierarchical modulation technique. This method provides varied bit error rates for global and local information contents. This article proposes a methodology to insert the local content along with the global content of the broadcasted signal targeted on improvement in bit error rate and spectral efficiency. This technique effectively uses the orthogonality principle of OFDM subcarriers.
