A new platform is necessary for effective data analysis since Internet of Things (IoT) devices have storage and processing capacity restrictions. The method for bridging the gap between IoT devices and data centers in distant locations has been suggested which is termed as fog computing. Fog computing enables many benefits, such as increased security, decreased bandwidth, and decreased latency. As a result of these benefits, the fog paradigm is appropriate for a range of IoT services in many applications, including smart healthcare. However, just like traditional data centers, security and privacy issues arise with fog devices situated at the Internet’s edge. In this work, several fog computing privacy preservation approaches and current developments are covered. After reviewing the methods employed in privacy preservation in fog computing, the policy-based access control methods are the most prevailing ones. Considering this, RSA-based role-based access control (RSA-RBAC) mechanism has been proposed to preserve privacy of patient healthcare data.

摘要
