A MANET, a mobile ad hoc network, is a network of nodes that are constantly moving about and communicating with each other using wireless links. Every node routes, directing packets of data from one location to another. Wireless gadgets that can connect spontaneously are in demand today. These devices can be quickly and easily set up in any location at any moment due to their flexibility and spontaneity. Because they aren’t operated by a single entity, these networks have inexpensive infrastructure. Limited energy power, bandwidth, the nature of wireless communication, signal interference, and the inherent dynamic aspect of such networks all make message routing more challenging. Limits on mobile node bandwidth and resource use, and infrastructure-less dynamic topology lead to the safe transfer of data from source to destination as a constant challenge. MANET QoS and secure routing are always a top security priority. This is because MANETs are vulnerable to any threats that may arise from malicious nodes in the network. When it comes to routing security, there are a lot of conventional solutions. However, none of those simplify the process of removing selfish or malicious nodes. This article proposes a new method called the hybrid trust approach (HTA) for MANET data transmission. It uses a trust factor to authenticate nodes by combining observations from both direct and neighboring nodes to create a resultant hybrid trust. When compared to other existing methods and routing without nodes trust calculation, simulation findings show that the suggested HTA technique performs effectively with an instance of throughput, packet dropping, delivery, and false-positive detection rate with a 5% improvement.
