This chapter presents one of the important CCS i.e. WM and its various aspects related to teaching learning process. The importance of memory is discussed along with types of memory and how long and short term memory related with WM. The theoretical aspects of WM are supported with different models and theories along with the role of brain are also presented. How far WM play a significant role in academic learning and achievement is well explained. The relationship between the higher cognitive abilities is supported with various research findings. Finally the ways and means of improving WM is suggested with the evidence of past research studies along with classroom practices.
