The lack of awareness of learning disabilities in Indian society results in many cases of learning disabilities going unchecked, and children are often ostracized and labeled as lazy or unmotivated. This paper discusses the ongoing development of a collaborative repository of resources to provide a holistic solution to the needs of various stakeholders involved in special education. The “Inclusive India Hub” repository aspires to be a one-stop open resource hub for inclusive education in the country. Building such a platform will help facilitate collaboration between critical stakeholders in a learning-disabled child’s life. Within this ongoing design project, this paper discusses insights gathered from schools, special educators and parents of children with learning disabilities as well as key learnings from secondary research. Together these insights help demonstrate the need to bring about empathetic collaboration among these stakeholders and the role of design in facilitating it.
