Requirements of Freelance Designers for Collaboration Platforms
摘要
The rising demand for collaborative tools among freelance designers underscores the need for a platform that seamlessly integrates project management features while accommodating the flexible nature of freelancing. Freelance designers are increasingly seeking a unified workspace that combines essential project management functionalities such as task tracking, file sharing, and real-time updates. To address this need, our research employed Design Research Methodology (DRM), blending secondary research with primary investigations. We conducted user interviews, surveys and engaged in discussions with freelance designers and stakeholders to delve into the intricacies of their work processes and identify their specific requirements. Through these interviews and discussions, we aimed to understand the challenges faced by freelance designers in collaborating effectively and managing their projects. We analyzed the research data, looking for patterns, common pain points, and opportunities for improvement. Our findings revealed that freelancers value autonomy and flexibility in their work but often struggle with communication and coordination when collaborating on projects. They expressed a desire for a platform that simplifies project management tasks while allowing them to maintain their independence. Furthermore, we identified the need for features such as intuitive task tracking, seamless file sharing, and transparent communication channels to facilitate easy and efficient collaboration among freelancers. These insights are crucial in shaping the design of our research framework and guiding the development of a potential collaborative platform. In conclusion, our research highlights the importance of understanding requirements of freelance designers in order to develop a platform that can aid their need of effective and efficient collaboration.
