Common structural diseases of shield tunnels in soft strata include water leakage, structural damage, and tunnel deformation. There is a causal link between them. Failure to treat them in time will result in deterioration of structural performance, forming a vicious cycle. A typical case is the interaction between water leakage from tunnels and structural deformation, which makes the condition of water leakage and structural deformation even worse. Shown in Table 2.1 are the types of structural diseases of shield tunnels.
