Navigation and Control of SCARA Robot Using Automation Studio

This research delves into the control and navigation of SCARA robots using Automation Studio, emphasizing their precision and high-speed capabilities in manufacturing and assembly operations. The study encompasses mathematical modeling, dynamics, and control methodologies, providing an extensive project overview that highlights Automation Studio’s seamless integration with the SCARA robot. A unique approach to extending the robot’s workspace is introduced through the incorporation of a linear sliding actuator, enhancing its functionality while ensuring stability. Kinematics modeling and simulation validate this method, showcasing reduced operation time and expanded workspace. Results from both simulations and real-world implementations confirm the efficacy of the approach, indicating its potential for diverse industrial applications. Automation Studio serves as a versatile development environment widely utilized in industrial automation, offering tools for PLC programming, HMI development, motion control, and simulation.
