Low distribution voltage, compared to the nominal 11 kV level, significantly impacts the performance of electrical networks, resulting in even lower voltage at the consumer end. This study examines an 11 kV network operated by the Department of Electrical Services (DES) in Brunei, which feeds nine 11 kV stations configured radially to serve residential areas. Regardless of load conditions, the 11 kV busbar voltages consistently fall below the nominal 11 kV, indicating voltage issues. Although the voltage remains within 5% of acceptable limits, achieving voltages closer to the nominal rating is preferred. This paper analyzes the circuit network using a software tool and proposes the installation of capacitor banks to improve the voltage conditions. The research shows the importance of maintaining voltage stability and efficiency in the distribution system.
