Life Cycle Costing of MEP Equipment in Building Projects
摘要
Life Cycle Costing (LCC) is an invaluable tool in the construction industry for successfully managing costs from the cradle to the grave. It is critical for achieving strategic project objectives. Life Cycle Costing uses a methodical technique to evaluate and analyze costs over time, considering the economic considerations such as initial investment costs, maintenance costs, operational costs, salvage value, discounts, refurbishment costs, and disposal expenses. The aim of this study is to examine the benefits and barriers of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Life Cycle Costing in the construction industry specifically in the Indian construction sector, with an emphasis on construction professionals’ experiences. The main goal is to determine how these teams perceive and cope with Life Cycle Costing in their construction projects. To do this, a questionnaire-based survey will be distributed to industry cost management teams. The study focuses on figuring out the benefits and obstacles that consultants face when adopting Life Cycle Costing. The survey responses will provide vital information about how Life Cycle Costing is used in the Indian construction industry. Furthermore, the study aims to show the challenges that construction professionals may face while attempting to effectively apply Life Cycle Costing. This study tries to provide practical insights into improving cost management techniques and increasing the efficiency of building projects through the thoughtful application of Life Cycle Costing.
