摘要
This chapter elaborates what this textbook is about and how it is designed to deliver key concepts and the basics of the branch of knowledge called International Relations. The chapter introduces methodological individualism, emphasizing strategic interaction among countries and other international actors like the United Nations and non-governmental organizations. Also, the chapter elaborates how important it is to be aware of the methods of social science, such as descriptive inference, causal inference, and deductive inference.
