Fixed-Dose Combination Approach in Therapeutic Delivery to the Eye
摘要
Fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy offers a promising approach to enhance ocular drug delivery by combining multiple therapeutic agents into a single formulation. This strategy can significantly improve patient compliance, reduce dosing frequency, and optimize therapeutic outcomes. This chapter delves into the principles and advantages of FDC therapy for ocular diseases. We explore the various formulation strategies, including topical, intravitreal, and ocular inserts, and discuss the challenges and considerations associated with their development. Additionally, we highlight recent advancements in FDC therapy for ocular diseases such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and dry eye disease. By understanding the potential benefits and limitations of FDC therapy, researchers and clinicians can work towards developing innovative and effective treatment options for ocular disorders.
