Microarray analysis and gene expression profiling have emerged as powerful tools for elucidating the complex molecular mechanisms underlying metabolite production in various organisms. This study proposes to leverage these techniques to explore the biosynthetic potential of marine algae, with a particular focus on identifying novel metabolites for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications. This study hypothesizes that applying microarray techniques to analyze gene expression under varying environmental conditions will enable the identification of key genes involved in the biosynthesis of these metabolites. Such knowledge about these evaluative regulatory pathways would enable researchers to optimize the way on which valuable compounds are isolated and produced, giving a more sustainable and innovative source of bioactive for industrial purposes.
