The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is a historic legal reform in India that harmonizes and simplifies personal laws across the nation. Socio-legal prospective is aimed at providing a uniform legal framework for all, regardless of their religious affiliations, and it focuses on civil matters such as marriage, divorce, adoption, inheritance, and succession. Protected in Article 44 of the Indian Constitution’s Directive Principles of State Policy, the UCC aims to bring together the country’s legal systems in order to enhance equity and national integration. The UCC is an effort to consolidate the various personal laws into one body of law with the objective of making the legal judgment process more streamlined and efficient and making the courts more effective. A primary objective is the abolition of discriminatory practices seen in many previous personal laws and establishing equal rights and obligations for all individuals regardless of gender. The UCC is a social movement with the stated goal of uniting the nation under a common law system, thus removing cultural and religious divides. This endeavor has to strike a balance between cultural insensitivity and disrespect for India’s many traditions as personal laws are so entangled with religious and cultural practices. There is resistance to implementing the UCC from many religious and cultural groups, thus there needs to be transparent communication and community involvement. This research aims to find out how the UCC can be administered and carried out more effectively with the aid of recent technological developments especially AI. The application of laws by AI can standardize, automate legal processes and provide increased access to advocates and make the court system more transparent and accountable. The main challenges are related to data privacy and ethics issues and the integration of AI into existing legal systems.
