Development of Injectable Nanorobots for Targeted Cancer Cell Destruction

Nanorobots are extremely small, in sizes smaller than a single human cell, and have the potential to revolutionize the treatment of cancer. By injecting them into the body and letting them travel through the bloodstream, these small robots can locate and destroy cancer cells directly. It’s also one crucial advantage as compared to traditional treatments of cancer, like chemotherapy and radiation. The latter two may damage the cells both healthy and malignant tumor cells, thereby causing dangerous side effects, such as nausea, hair loss, and fatigue. Nanorobots function in various ways. They can be designed to deliver cancer-fighting drugs precisely where they are needed directly to the cancer cells, bypassing healthy cells in the way. Another role these nanorobots can play is in cutting off the blood supply flowing through the tumors, killing the cancer cells with the applied heat. This altogether brings a rise in the targeted treatment as opposed to the widespread damage caused by non-targeted conventional treatments, reducing the risk of side effects. Although the nanorobots are still under research and development, it is a promising prospect for much more accurate, effective, and safer cancer treatment. They mark an important stride in the possibilities of cancer therapies as a new and fascinating alternative to the conventional modes of treatments.
