Enhancing Transparency and Security in Diamond Industry Using Blockchain

The diamond industry faces many challenges, including safety, provenance, and transparency. Blockchain technology, a decentralized digital ledger, has emerged as a promising solution to overcome these challenges. This large-scale project report examines the practical application of blockchain in the diamond industry, highlighting its potential to create tamper-proof records of diamond life and thus blockchain technology promotes trust and accountability, and provides consumers can confirm the true and ethical source of internal diamonds. Additionally, blockchain reduces fraud, simplifies supply chain management, and eliminates intermediaries, thereby reducing costs. While the potential benefits are clear, issues such as interoperability, data privacy, and industry collaboration need to be addressed. This report examines real-world use cases and activities in the diamond industry and makes recommendations for successfully integrating blockchain technology Findings show that blockchain can revolutionize diamond inspection, certification, and trading and inspire consumer confidence, strengthening moral standards.
