Vegetable production in urban areas and small home gardens is the best alternative approach to tackle food shortage, malnutrition, and inconsistent supplies. Urban vegetable production may be observed in a variety of ways viz. urban farming, urban homesteading, and indoor gardening. Indoor vegetable production methods not only provide fresh and safe food but also help to mitigate climate change effects and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
