Vegetable production in urban areas and small home gardens is the best alternative approach to tackle food shortage, malnutrition, and inconsistent supplies. It has become a vital component of urban food production system as it has a yield potential of up to 50 kg per m2. Urban vegetable production may be observed in a variety of ways viz. urban farming, urban homesteading, and indoor gardening. Indoor vegetable production methods not only provide fresh and safe food but also help to mitigate climate change effects and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. This chapter reveals significant and latest information on diverse vegetables’ production techniques for urban home and small garden areas.
