Utilizing Discrete Cosine Transform for Video Compression and Encryption: An Algorithmic Approach
摘要
In the current era marked by emerging technology, transmitting videos in different situations, such as television, communication, and multimedia. Consequently, ensuring the security of video data has become imperative. While numerous video encryption methods have been developed, many fall short in terms of encryption and decryption efficiency. One method proposed involves embedding data within scrambled AVI video, employing various clippers for encryption and decryption processes. Cryptographic techniques are increasingly employed in image and video processing tasks for content access control, biometric identification and authentication, and privacy protection. However, many existing algorithms solely rely on scrambling (permutation) methods, where DCT coefficients are permuted to induce confusion. Such methods lack authentication and protection, and often utilize stream ciphers, which can be time-consuming for video processing, particularly without employing frame generation to provide user authentication and protection. In our approach, we achieve 92% of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio accuracy by Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), which not only provides compression but also ensures security. However, it is possible to enhance encryption and decryption efficiency while maintaining high accuracy and security levels.
