The aim of this chapter is to provide a broader perspective on conditional conjunctions in relation to inter-clausal anaphora and to refine the theoretical framework by incorporating additional counterexamples. The new hypothesis introduced in Chap. 4 serves as the foundation for the present analysis. It is tested against fifteen hypothetical subordinators, resulting in three final hypotheses: Hypothesis I, Hypothesis 2’, and Hypothesis 3. All three are evaluated against the data, and Hypothesis I in this group is further illustrated with a visual representation.

摘要

The aim of this chapter is to provide a broader perspective on conditional conjunctions in relation to inter-clausal anaphora and to refine the theoretical framework by incorporating additional counterexamples. The new hypothesis introduced in Chap. 4 serves as the foundation for the present analysis. It is tested against fifteen hypothetical subordinators, resulting in three final hypotheses: Hypothesis I, Hypothesis 2’, and Hypothesis 3. All three are evaluated against the data, and Hypothesis I in this group is further illustrated with a visual representation.
