Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound: A Perioperative Monitoring Tool
摘要
In patients who are candidates for surgery, the use of ultrasound plays a central role as a point-of-care tool to complement the clinical examination The aim is to use transcranial Doppler (TCD) as a monitoring tool in different types of surgery and to reduce the incidence of neurological complications, allowing corrective maneuvers to be implemented when the situation is still reversible. Using TCD, it is possible to estimate intracranial pressure, cerebral perfusion pressure, and identify intraoperative embolic events.
