Due to the limited availability of archaeological materials, the archaeological studies of palaces from the two Song dynasties primarily focus on objects. Relying solely on literary sources for discussion would deviate from the truth, so they are not considered. Instead, we will briefly discuss the visual depictions of palaces of the Northern Song Dynasty, as they hold equal importance to material objects.
