Instrumentality of Green Initiatives in Sustainable Firm Performance with a Focus on Indian Companies
摘要
Green economies benefit human well-being and social equity while reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcity. Rising challenges in sustainable living conditions have resulted in every country engaging in activities that generate favorable results that do not harm the environment. This study delves into the strategies implemented and potential measures for enhancing green economic initiatives (GEI) in a developing country like India, aligning with successful global GEI practices. With India’s commitment to the Paris Agreement and COP 26, the relevance of this research is underscored. By analyzing the top 20 Indian companies, this study aims to identify existing GEI, explore green economic initiatives in India, assess national challenges, and propose policy implications. Data was gathered from secondary sources, including a review of papers on global GEI practices and an empirical analysis of 20 major Indian companies. The findings shed light on the companies’ environmental sustainability efforts, expenditure on green initiatives, challenges faced, and policy recommendations arising from the study.
