Micro and nanoplastic pollution poses significant environmental and health risks worldwide. Effective policies are crucial to mitigate this issue. This study evaluates policy effectiveness, highlighting successes and challenges. Extended Producer Responsibility, single-use plastic bans, and waste management regulations demonstrate potential. However, lack of standardization, inadequate enforcement, and limited scope hinder progress. Best practices, including integrated approaches, stakeholder engagement, and continuous monitoring, enhance policy impact. Case studies from Sweden, Rwanda, and California illustrate successful policy implementation. Recommendations for harmonized global regulations, robust enforcement, and international cooperation are presented. This research informs policymakers and stakeholders on effective strategies to combat micro and nanoplastic pollution.
