Since student engagement (SE) and academic excellence enhance student achievement via efficient teaching practices, they are considered as significant practices all over the world. It is necessary to explore the understanding of efficient teaching practices and student academic achievement, which is a lack despite the growing interest in student engagement. Hence, this topic still needs to receive significant attention for student engagement. Therefore, to investigate student engagement and academic excelling with effective teaching practices, this research is presented. By using a purposive sampling technique, the sample has been taken from 1495 students and 249 teachers from 23 secondary school education in metro cities in India. Through the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and mediation model, the path analysis of variables was analyzed. As per the study’s outcome, the predictor variable of efficient learning time had a direct impact on students’ engagement and academic performance. Furthermore, the current work concluded that the student’s engagements are considerably related to students’ academic achievements.
