摘要

The expansion of artificial intelligence technology with the help of tools, such as ChatGPT, has led to extensive use of content creation by machines. ChatGPT is a sophisticated language model enhanced by Open AI, which has prompted a consequential debate concerning the implication of AI-generated data in reference to copyright laws. This research examines the intricate convergence between Chat GPT and copyright issues, to explore the concerns related to authorship and ownership rights. The primary concern includes the use and the production of the copyrighted material and nuances of fair use, critically probing the various doctrines and rights laid down under the Copyright Act of 1957 to determine the issues persisting. Additionally, the tool's capacity to produce novel text elevates the question of the integrity and ownership rights with respect to the content generated by AI and the protection granted under our existing legal frameworks. ChatGPT has been efficiently trained in a manner with the help of datasets, puzzles, and examples to create outputs that closely mimic human communication. It has been trained using a large collection of textual data using a transformer-based deep learning architecture ( Vaswani in Attention is all you need. pp. 6000–6010, 2017) enabling it to generate well-organized and contextually relevant natural language responses. Notwithstanding its sophisticated features, ChatGPT raises legitimate and moral questions, especially in regard to disinformation, copyright violations, fair use, and the need for legislation to guarantee the technology is used responsibly.
