Women’s Advancement in Technology Project Management Leadership (WAT-PML): A Literature Review

The research focuses on the leadership position of women in the technology project management careers which have been widely known to have positive relationship with innovation and performance. Based on the previous studies, various important challenges to women’s employment in high technological jobs are acknowledged. These include social role stereotypes, work and family conflicts, gender issues, and lack of appropriate mentors. The paper proceeds to analyze how women were able to manage out of these challenges some of which included mentorship, continuing professional development, and fluid leadership. There are some other patterns that also unfolded fairly frequently consisting of gender diversity of the organizational practice, the government policy providing and a flexible work environment. This research underscores the importance and tasks toward systemic changes and policy interventionist to support the advancement of women and their promotion to leadership positions in technology management as the country strives for promoting a balanced technology industry.
